Our Lady of the lake was the first church built to serve the tourist population in the Lake of the Ozarks area. The parish which began as a small mission in the Lake of the Ozarks resort area now has approximately 550 families who are permanent residents, and over 1100 registered visitors. And the little chapel, though no longer standing on the hill, remains in the memory of many tourist and locals who had the joy of seeing the mission chapel grow into a large church which serves parishioners, vacationers, and tourists in the area today.
