First Lutheran Church is a welcoming, worshipping, community-serving, and justice-seeking community of faith. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

We are a “Reconciling in Christ” congregation which means we welcome and affirm people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We also practice open communion. Whether you come from a different church or no church, you have a seat at The Lord’s Table.

We worship every Sunday morning at 9:30am. We love to “make a joyful noise” at First Lutheran Church as we profess our faith through music and liturgy. Worship is what brings us together every week and renews us so we can go back out into a world sorely in need of comfort, hope, and love.

We serve our community in many different ways. We collect food every week for Metro Lutheran Ministry. We support a variety of service organizations and ministries such as Lutheran World Relief, Dress A Girl Around the World, Happy Bottoms, and more. Members of First Lutheran Church can be found all over the metro as they volunteer their time to care for others.

You’ll also find members of First Lutheran Church at community meetings, protests, and letter-writing events. We long for a world where all have what they need to live and thrive. Our faith moves us to seek justice for the most vulnerable members of our community. In these uncertain and scary times, we are dreaming up new ways to be church, embody God’s love, and work towards a more just and peaceful world.
