Denomination: Eastern Christianity → Eastern Orthodoxy → Orthodox Church in America (OCA)In the 1980s, a community of Orthodox Christians founded a mission parish to minister to an increasing number of Orthodox transplants seeking English language services. After several years of dormancy, the community was re-energized in a millhouse in the late 90s, seeking to be an English-language Orthodox Church in the Slavic tradition.
In the 2010s, the community relocated to a more central location, building a traditional Byzantine structure filled with hand painted iconography yet completely at home in its Up Country setting. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the community has exploded, exceeding even its new building’s capacity and looking to plant additional churches in the area.
